Thanks for answering the call
Our 2014 Annual Phonathon is over and we want to thank everyone who answered the call! A big thanks goes out to this year’s volunteers, too, who gave up their evenings from Jan. 27 through Feb. 7, braving ice and snow to help conduct this fundraiser for the KHS. If you made a pledge during this time, be on the lookout for your reminder letter. If you haven’t already received one, it should arrive in your mailbox soon. Check back in a few days for the final tally, but we already know that the generosity shown by everyone during this time is certain to put us near to our $50,000 goal.
If we missed you and you’d like to contribute, please click the “Contribute Now” button to the right. Your donation, no matter how small, goes a long way in supporting critical KHS programming such as Camp ArtyFact, National History Day in Kentucky, the HistoryMobile, professional internships, scholarly research fellowships and more.
We’re looking for a few great volunteers! Volunteers contribute a variety of unique talents and skills, life experiences and knowledge to KHS, providing personal attention to visitors, performing vital behind-the-scenes duties and educating the public about the commonwealth’s rich and diverse heritage. The “Civil Rights Movement in Kentucky” is the first in a series of intriguing topics to be addressed at KY MEdia Bank (www.kymediabank.com
), a new KHS website best described as an online “public scrapbook.” We created the website as both an innovative teaching tool for K-12 students and as a place where the public can capture, share and archive stories about the people and events that made an impact on Kentucky’s communities and ultimately helped shape the commonwealth. Please visit KY MEdia Bank
to share your story today!
